L(_)BTI+ werk is niks zonder jou. Miste je een letter? Klopt. Wij missen ook iets, namelijk jou. 

COC Limburg Venlo is namelijk per direct op zoek naar een tweede coördinator. 

Waarom?

“COC? Dat is toch iets van die homo’s…?!” Klopt ja en nee. Wij zijn weliswaar de oudste LHBTI+ organisatie van de wereld. Maar bij ons doen mensen mee die zich niet graag in hokjes willen laten plaatsen. 

Sinds september 2022 is het COC Limburg bezig om iets op te bouwen in de regio Limburg Noord. Onze regio is een witte plek op de roze kaart van Nederland. Geen ontmoetingsplekken, geen activiteiten. Hier willen wij graag verandering in brengen. Wij kiezen daarvoor om ontmoetingen zo lokaal mogelijk te realiseren, lokale netwerken op te bouwen en een klankbord voor de queer community in onze steek te zijn en te worden. Aan ambities geen gebrek. Maar zonder helpende handen gaat dit ons niet lukken.

Hoe doen wij dat?

Wij proberen ons zo breed mogelijk op te stellen. Iedereen, die de queer community een warm hart toedraagt, is welkom. Wij werken in een kernteam van vrijwilligers die meer willen beteken voor de gemeenschap. Mensen hebben bij het COC de mogelijkheid hun ideeën te realiseren en hun talenten te gebruiken. Niets moet, veel kan. Daarbij proberen wij zo laagdrempelig als mogelijk te zijn. 

COC Limburg Venlo kent als enige officiële functie de coördinator. Deze functie heeft vooral een aansturende rol. Jij hoeft het niet allemaal in je eentje te doen. Er is een tweede coördinator met wie jij intensief gaat samen werken en kunt sparren alsmede een team waarmee alles gerealiseerd kan worden. Bovendien ben je meteen deel van het netwerk van COC Nederland; de` oudste LHBTI+ organisatie ter wereld met spreekrecht bij de verenigde naties.

Wat ben jij voor iemand?

· Je bent de ogen en oren van de community.

· Je stuurt een divers team van vrijwilligers aan.

· Je begeleid nieuwe vrijwilligers.

· Je organiseert iedere maand een vergadering.

· Je denkt actief mee in hoe de activiteiten opgezet moeten worden.

 Did you miss a letter? True. We are also missing something, namely you!

 In fact, COC Limburg Venlo is looking for a second coordinator with immediate effect.

Why?

"COC? That's something of those gay...?!" True yes and no. We may be the oldest LGBT+ organisation in the world. But with us participate people who don't like to be pigeonholed. 

Since September 2022, COC Limburg has been building something in the Limburg North region. Our region is a white spot on the pink map of the Netherlands. No meeting places, no activities. We would like to change this. We choose to realise meetings as locally as possible, build local networks and be and become a sounding board for the queer community in our sting. There is no shortage of ambitions. But we will not succeed without helping hands.

How do we do that?

We try to be as inclusive as possible. Everyone, who cares about the queer community, is welcome. We work in a core team of volunteers who want to mean more to the community. People have the opportunity at the COC to realise their ideas and use their talents. Nothing is compulsory, a lot is possible. In doing so, we try to be as accessible as possible. 

The only official position of COC Limburg Venlo is that of coordinator. This position mainly has a guiding role. You don't have to do it all on your own. There is a second coordinator with whom you will work intensively and can spar as well as a team with which everything can be realised. Moreover, you will immediately be part of the network of COC Netherlands; the` oldest LGBT+ organisation in the world with the right to speak at the United Nations.

What kind of person are you?

-  You are the eyes and ears of the community.

-  You manage a diverse team of volunteers.

-  You mentor new volunteers.

-  You organise a meeting every month.

-  You actively think along in how the activities should be set up
